Do game controller adapters really work?

I'm just doodling my time right now, and I'm in ebay curiously looking at this item called a ';PS2 Controller To GC\Wii Adapter'; and I'm just wondering how they work, and if they even work.

Most of them do work, although you generally don't get any of the ';special'; functions. In other words, the rumble feature in the ps2 controller won't be enabled or anything. The main problem with controller adapters is when you are using a specialized controller. For example, there are ps2 to ps3 adapters out there, but they still do not work with dance pads and guitars.





As long as you just want to use the controllers general features, then they generally are great. I have several adapters that allow me to use my ps2 controllers on my computer, and they are so much better than the typical pc controller.
