I have an acer aspire 1640z and on the hardware list there is a question mark next to network controller. I believe this is why i cannot connect to the modem. I have searched the internet for this controller and have still not managed to find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thankyou :)
xI have still not been able to find or fix my network controller.?
The driver (controller) is available from the Acer website - check out their service %26amp; support pages

Hey,
I have attached the link that would directly take you to the acer website that contains all the drivers for acer aspire 1640z. Choose the right operating system i.e. XP or Vista and then under Drivers and Utilities select ';Realtek LAN Driver'; which is the driver/software for the network controller.Download, save and install it.Restart the computer and it should be connecting to the internet.
Feel free to contact me on yahoo anytime, I am online 24*7.Even if it says that I am online, I am and you can message me from yahoo messenger.
I had the same problem with my computer. Do you have the motherboard disc. You need to run that to install the required drivers or network controller what ever you want to call it.
Mine was sorted after that.
