bought truck in 2006 and puting it to work but do not know about electric brakesDoes the 2006 gmc sierra 3500 hd come with a factory trailer brake controller?
The truck is probably wired for a brake controller but you have to supply the control head yourself. Check with a trailer supplier and tell them what your planning to tow. Not unless you got it from the dealer and specified that option. It was a dealer add on with the towing package. Chances are that it is already wired and just needs the brake controller. Good Luck
I put 1 on my 3500 HD the hook up and stuff is there for it Probably located above your feet behind the trim panel below the steering column
